Its not about numbers. 2 Sam 24

We are commissioned to each go and make disciples and baptise them… And then disciple them to do likewise… It’s important that churches keep to the original assignment from Jesus (Matt 28 v 18-20) where He intended each disciple to multiply and make more.

It wasn’t meant to be that we herd them all into a building one day a week and then sit them down so that while everyone sits and watches , one man can preach the gospel to them and one man can invite them to repent and then the same one man can baptise them and then pray for them to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

No. Jesus sent out the 12 then the 70(72) and this was to demonstrate how multiplication worked.
He intended us to continue this model and multiply across the whole earth by now!
Each new creation once having been baptised in water and Spirit now has Christ inside (Christ in us, the hope of glory – Coll 1) and needs to obey Jesus because He said ” if you love me you will obey me”
Each has the Spirit of Jesus inside so each new follower of Jesus can do the same works that He did – healing, casting out demons, and more like we see the original disciples doing in Acts (Read and follow Acts 2 v 36-47.)

There are so many churches now that are not encouraging/ equipping their members to be real followers and apprentices/disciples as in book of Acts.
Yes we need to each repent and be baptised to be made a new creation (and receive the Holy Spirit) but after this each of these disciples are now new ambassadors for Jesus sent out in His name to make more disciples and train them likewise.

It is the leaders’ responsibility that new believers are discipled so they can then baptise and equipp others .

Sadly so many people either haven’t even obeyed yet to the point of baptism and renewal, let alone having baptised anyone else.

We need to move on from this old covenant (1 priest) mindset and allow the new testament church body be a body..an army…the ekklesia.

For help doing this I suggest leaders looks at YouTube posts by :

Amen and Amen. I am a Life Team member of Jglm and I totally agree with this post for this is what we teach at JGLM with doing what we teach and not just preaching it. In total agreement with your words. Glory to God, our Lord is true and just.

Thanks Rino, I appreciate your feedback.
I will be trying to post more frequently on here rather than on facebook from now on. Blessings to you and your family, and the disciples you have in your life team. May 2018 hold greater depths of unity and boldness as you come together in one body. Claire
